First Image From Doctor Parnassus
Gilliam offers a glimpse at his next

11 February 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: Doctor Parnassus

They teased us with half of this image last week, but now the full look at the first shot from Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus has been released on the movie's official site.

The film is, of course, now well-known as the last film Heath Ledger worked on before his untimely death. There is still no official news on how the project will continue without him, but the release of the first image is a definite statement of intent to finish and release the film.

The film tells the tale of Dr Parnassus, a travelling showman who has promised his daughter to the devil on her 16th birthday, in exchange for his eternal youth. As that birthday approaches, Parnassus makes a new bet with the devil and promises his daughter's hand to whosoever can help him win it.

still can't get over his death, doesn't seem real somehow. At the BAFTAs they did that montage thing and ended with a picture of Ledger and even Jonathan Ross looked confused and saddened by it all. I hope they leave his scenes in. Maybe it could be like a reflection in a mirror or a brief glimpse of him somewhere, just as a tribute? More
