Rambo IV Changes Its Name Again
Everyone remain as you were last week

Because much of the internet reaction to Sylvester Stallone deciding to change the name of John Rambo to Rambo: To Hell and Back was – and we're paraphrasing here – 'What the f**k!', Sly has decided to go back to the former title. Thank the lord, or at least Stallone.

Stallone decided to revert to the far less '80s computer game title after discussion with Harry Knowles. The talkbackers on Knowles' Aintitcool site had been resoundingly negative and the actor/director realised that internetular types will make up much of his audience for the movie.

You've got to hand it to the man for listening to his public. You don't get many studios, let alone stars, who'd act so quickly on feedback from the public. So, are you happy with this as the final title?

RE: Hmmm
Calling it And Backhave been foolish. That was the name of the Audie Murphy biopic. He was the most decorated soldier in American history. Stallone avoided military service   More

John Rambo is good
Only from the perspective that it matches Rocky Balboa. Like other people have said, aint gonna change the quality of the movie, though it does affect the look of the numbers on the DVD shelf, same as th Rocky's. But hey, then you realise there's more to life... More

RE: Finally
L: eoghan I admit with complete disregard for my reputation that I'm on a major Ramboner for this movie. See what I did there? Ramboner?! h, on the contrary my friend. Having a Ramboner is perfectly acceptable. Don't forget, the very best 80's action films always had some degree of homoerotic connotations. You Ramboner is just a natural reaction More

After the toned-down, family friendly Die Hard 4.0, it's good to see some shameless, balls-to-the-wall, shockingly gruesome 80s violence back on our screens. I admit with complete disregard for my reputation that I'm on a major Ramboner for this movie. See what I did there? Ramboner?! More

I hope he sticks with 'John Rambo'. It's a good name, same as 'Rocky Balboa' worked well too. But who cares what it's called, judging from the trailer it's an uber-violent balls-out action movie, which is always good in my book! More

RE: What about
What a genius and highly original publicity stunt. A very clever move by Stallone and hats off to him for thinking that one up.   I mean seriously, not even Stallone would choose a title like Rambo: To Hell And Back. It certainly seems the vast majority of AICN bought it though. More fool them! More

Posted by TheGreatEye at 13:23 on 15 October 2007 | Report This Post

I'm surprised Stallone didn't think that 'John Rambo' was the better title anyway, considering he went with 'Rocky Balboa' over 'Rocky XI'. 'John Rambo is much better than 'Rambo And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull'... More

John Rambo. Does exactly what it says on the tin, but I have to confess a weak spot for the 'to Hell and Back' for the whole 80's thing it evokes. the original trailer looked way cool with those temp video titles - more Grindhouse than Grindhouse, but there's the warning, just because basement-based Internet freak have something to say about your movie, doesn't mean the little bastards will actually pay to go see the film when it comes out - look at the fall-off for Snakes on a Plane and Grindho More

Makes a Change
I would say it's nice to see an Actor/Director who recognises they're not so far above the people to actually pay for their movies!! Even if it is to see Rambo having to lean his walking stick against a tree whenever he needs both hands free for neck snapping/AK shooting action More
