Darren Aronofsky Directing Black Swan
Expect weird

Darren Arunofsky Aronafsky Aronofsky, a director whose name we can almost never spell on first go, has just signed up for a new project: Black Swan. And it sounds, well, it sounds very different. The psychological thriller centres on a manipulative relationship between a veteran dancer and their rival. Now, we've not generally seen the words "psychological thriller" and "dancer" used in the same sentence, so we're really hoping we might be in for some sinister pirouetting and a possible cha-cha to-the-death.

Aranofsky  Aronofsky (dammit) is no stranger to the psychological having already made the freaky Pi (mmmm, pie), about a paranoid mathematician, addiction drama Requiem For A Dream and The Fountain. Released in the UK next Friday The Fountain tells of a man (Hugh Jackman) fighting to save his terminally ill wife (Rachel Weisz) and then starts zipping through space and time and all kinds of craziness. But don't worry, there's a bit with a monkey. The film has underperformed in the US and split critics right down the middle -- something most filmmakers would like to do, with an axe. Empire thinks it's ace, so IN YOUR FACE REST OF THE WORLD. IN YOUR FACE!

OK, well firstly I'm not sure how not having "a laugh" is considered behaviour of a 'F*ggot'. On the whole I think the gay community probably have a lot more of a laugh than most. Secondly, did you really have to use such vile term? (Maybe this crude language IS your idea of humour). And thirdly, I think it is the Aronofsky mis-spelling joke (used twice!), the god-awful Pi gag and the article's immature denouement that is the bane of all us "ruddy boring gits". More

Umm... yeah. I'm guessing that Empire Online don't bother employing copywriters. I'm betting that to save a couple of bob they just ask the Ritalin-addled spotty teenaged oiks who do all the interweb gubbins to fill in the blanks. This is about the most puerile, semi-developed article to be associated with Empire I've ever read. This and the Jade Goody comment on the Salma Hayek news. Grow some journalistic nous and style. Grow a brain. Grow up. More
