Sam Jackson Secures Production Deal
Working with New Line

Samuel L Jackson is getting into the production deal business. The star has signed up to a two-year, first-look setup with New Line, the company behind his most recent starring role, a little film called Snakes On A Plane.

Despite the less-than-overwhelming box office take for Snakes, the company clearly wants to be in business with the man: “Sam's career has been highlighted by his success in a variety of genres; it's clear that he knows what makes a movie work," New Line production president Toby Emmerich told The Hollywood Reporter. "This deal is about tapping into his experience, knowledge and instincts to make good movies together."

"I have made four movies with New Line so far, and they have all been immensely positive experiences for me," Jackson explained to the trade mag. "I feel like Toby and (New Line co-CEO and co-chairman) Bob (Shaye) have allowed me to express my creative vision in the past, and I'm thrilled that we will continue to collaborate more closely on future projects together." He somehow forgot to add, “Of course, I don’t include The Man in that list. Sheesh, that was a bad idea…”

So, what will he end up calling the company? Surely there’s only one name suitable for the legendary Sam Jackson: Bad Motherfucker Productions. Can’t wait for the headed stationery…

The Man
I actually enjoyed 'The Man'. I was kicked off my film degree course a few weeks ago too, but these incidents are unrelated. More
