 I just noticed here that Sunset Boulevard is about to get a remastered cinema release. I wish I was still in Glasgow to go see it!

 The Cranes Are Flying - Some striking imagery but it left me cold on the whole. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was alright I just don't imagine I'll be in a hurry to watch it again.

Arsenic and Old Lace - Screwball comedies do nothing for me so this is the one I was least enthusiastic about watching. Turns out I was right to be apprehensive. Grant is a fine, fine actor but he did nothinig but annoy me all the way through this. Everyone else was alright though. I think I'd probably enjoy this more as a play.

 The Treasure of the Sierra Madre - Fantastic. A good portrayal of greed and human nature. Bogart is superb although I think his performance in The African Queen is probably a bit better (it's also a better Huston film, probably). The standout here though is Walter Huston who's on great form.

Only 2 more films left to watch now, one of which I'm at the mercy of Lovefilm with (La Ronde), and then I can send in my list. It's been an enjoyable round for the most part.

The Shop Around the Corner - better than You've Got Mail. But still, I wasn't that keen - I wish we could have seen more of the letter writing and I didn't like some of the characterisation of Klara.

Not doing too well so far, though I rewatched Sunset Boulevard and it's still a gorgeously Gothic and melodramatically wonderful film.

I shockingly have never seen Frasier - it's one I always want to watch, but there's never any time. TV shows can take up so much time.

 It's worth it in Frasier's case though. Niles is one of the greatest characters ever.

All I know of Frasier I learnt from the episode of the Simpsons with David Hyde Pierce in it.

 Niles' best moment was ironing his trousers He was a great, great character and my favourite when I saw it but I just find Frasier more interesting now.

The Shop Around the Corner is one of my favourite films, it saddens me someone doesn't like it. You've Got Mail is wank.

Frasier is my favourite Series and Niles is probably the greatest television character and though Frasier is brilliant as Rawls says he never broke my heart. Frasier had one of the best ensembles, there isn’t a character that I dislike or think didn’t work, even Mel had her moments and I even felt bad for Donny.

However having said Niles is awesome he didn’t get to say this…

“Roger, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. Roger, if I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem.”

I think Donny was a perfect example of how good the show actually is. Because most shows would make you hate him, and Frasier never did.
