The daily goings on of jobbing stand-up Jerry and his three strange friends were always standalone incidents. There were no cliff-hangers here and no lasting inter-group romance (Jerry and Elaine got most of that out of the way before the show started). Instead they kept the audience's attention by being very, very funny.
