Saldana is something of a late bloomer - after years of knocking on the door in the likes of The Terminal, it seems Hollywood only just wised up to her blend of stunning beauty and fast-talking intelligence this year. There's an irony in the fact that her biggest role, in James Cameron's Avatar, won't bear a trace of the true Saldana, but with The Losers and Star Trek 2 coming up, we're going to get plenty of the real thing. Thank God for that.
