Immensely fun 2D turn-based battle game, in which two platoons of psychotic annelids, armed with a stupidly bizarre array of WMDs (WsMD?), blast each other to wormdom come. This sequel rethought the combative squirmers as cute 'toons (check out the way they brightly munch on dirt when left idle), and earned the game its cult status. Sadly, it all went wrong when they switched to 3D; the 2D terrain was much more entertaining to blast holes into, build on to and, crucially, tunnel through.
