YEAR: 2006     FORMAT: PS2

The 100 Greatest Games | 96 | Okami

A lost classic that was largely overlooked in the transition from PS2 toPS3, Okami is one of the few occasions when a videogame is worthy of being considered a piece of art. Featuring a unique, gesture-based control system where players draw symbols onscreen to unleash a series of miracles, and a slick graphic style that made the best of the outdated PS2 hardware, Okami is a title worth searching out if you missed it first time round, and still stands head and shoulders above many recent PS3 adventures.

Memorable for...
Style. The game is styled to look like a Japanese ink illustration and features a sweeping soundtrack based on traditional Far Eastern music, making Okami one of the PS2's most stylish and visually stunning games ever.
