FTL's Dungeon Master carries the honour of being the very first realtime action 3D RPG, not to mention the ST's biggest-selling title. Placing your stalwart quartet in Lord Chaos' dungeon, the game saw you work your way down to the bowels to confront the dark lord himself. Dripping with atmosphere, the game was genuinely frightening, using darkness (keep that torch or light spell up or everything goes pitch black) and eerie effects to crank up the atmosphere as you navigate fiendish traps and cryptic puzzles within the treacherous labyrinth.

Memorable for...
A unique magic system. With spells accessed through tapping in a series of symbols, you could theoretically tap into even the more advanced spells right away - assuming you knew the sequence. You might not have the mana to cast more than one but a veteran player could have quite the surprise in store for the first Screamer that crossed their party's path.
