"You're all my children now!" Freddy Krueger

Played By: Robert Englund
Film: A Nightmare On Elm Street 1-6, Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Why He's On The List: Before he became a vaudevillian villain, dispatching victims while dropping one-liners like a hideously scarred Arnie, Robert Englund's Freddie Krueger was a genuinely disturbing menace, a cackling, mocking foe who moved like a spider, and whose threat was not only almost inescapable (close your eyes, you're his) but often disturbingly sexual, and whose one-liners were blunt tools like "I'm gonna kill you slow!" It's not hard to see why he became an icon.

Finest Hour: His tormenting murder of the hapless Tina, dragging her increasingly bloodied body up walls and onto the ceiling.
