Morphing from shrieking, possibly insane shrinking violet to grim, grey-haired Mad Max-a-like in the blink of an eye, Ash is a delirious, delicious, dimwitted parody of action heroes. Finest Hour: Virtually the whole of Evil Dead II, but we'll go for the tooling-up montage which ends with Ash, chainsaw bolted to his missing hand, reborn. Groovy, indeed.
