Why He's On The List: In your average work of drama, it's pretty much a given that the central character has to have a decent arc - y'know, Hero's Journey and all that. Hence the success of Neo, or Thomas Anderson within the Matrix, a man who wakes from the world within a world, and rises to take control. Mentor Morpheus even believes he is 'The One' - classic stuff, which went straight into the zeitgeist.
Finest Hour: Showing us the Matrix in its true form, and at the same time stopping in mid-air the bullets which have just been fired at him.
